About these terms
These terms cover the Threadline web app, the Threadline connector for Claude and ChatGPT, the Threadline Conversation Bridge extension, and our help and privacy pages. Threadline is operated by Samuel Owoade (“we”). Contact: sojowoade@gmail.com.
By creating an account, connecting an assistant, or using the extension, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Threadline.
1. Who can use Threadline
- You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including what assistants you connect do with the access you give them.
- One person per account. Don’t share your sign-in or use someone else’s account.
2. The service
Threadline organizes your conversations into projects, topics and subtopics, lets you continue them in the web app, and lets Claude and ChatGPT save to and recall from the projects you share with them.
- Free, with allowances. Threadline is free. AI features have daily allowances per account and for the service as a whole. When an allowance is reached, AI features pause until it resets; you can still read, export and delete your data.
- It will change. We may add, change or remove features. We aim to keep Threadline available but can’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
- Keep your own copies. Download backups of projects that matter to you (Manage projects → Backup & restore).
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you add to Threadline: messages, imported chats, files, notes, and the exchanges your assistants save. You give us permission to store, copy, process and transmit your content only as needed to run Threadline for you. That includes sending it to the services described in the privacy policy, such as OpenAI for AI features and the assistant you connect when you ask it to recall something. We don’t claim ownership of your content and don’t use it for advertising.
Only add content you have the right to use. Be careful with other people’s personal or sensitive information.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t use Threadline to:
- break the law, or store or share content that is illegal, abusive, or infringes someone else’s rights;
- try to access other people’s accounts or data, or get around sign-in, permissions, or allowances;
- attack, overload, scan, or reverse engineer the service, or upload malware;
- automate access beyond the features we provide (the Claude and ChatGPT connector is a provided feature);
- break the rules of the services you connect, such as Anthropic’s or OpenAI’s usage policies.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, or to protect users and the service.
5. AI output
Threadline uses AI to reply, organize topics and summarize. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and topics may be misfiled; you can correct them. Don’t rely on Threadline for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and verify anything important against the original source.
6. Claude, ChatGPT and other services
Threadline is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. Claude, ChatGPT and Chrome are their owners’ trademarks.
- When you connect Claude or ChatGPT, you choose which projects it may use and whether it may save. Their own terms and policies govern your use of those assistants and what happens in those chats.
- Content Threadline sends to your assistant, for example when you ask it to recall something, becomes part of that chat. Deleting it in Threadline doesn’t remove it there.
- Threadline runs on Netlify and uses OpenAI for AI features. We aren’t responsible for services we don’t control, but we choose them carefully and describe them in the privacy policy.
7. Ending your use
You can stop using Threadline at any time and delete your account in Getting started & your data → Delete your account. This deletes your content as described in the privacy policy.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect users or the service; where reasonable, we’ll tell you first. If we ever shut Threadline down, we’ll aim to give notice so you can download your data.
8. Warranties and liability
To the extent the law allows, Threadline is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about Threadline is limited to US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you; nothing here limits rights you have that the law says can’t be limited.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above, and for significant changes we’ll tell you in Threadline before they apply. If you keep using Threadline after that, the new terms apply.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them there instead.
